Oh, how that book amuses me.

But now onto the good news: I am now the proud mother of a Canon Powershot A590IS camera. It’s like an DSLR made sweet, sweet love to a point-and-shoot camera. Check ‘im out:

He should be coming to be within a week or so, and when he does, this place will be covered in pictures. Covered in pictures, I say!

So, we’ve got about a week. What until then? Well, I figured I would try to take pictures of some of the prettiest things I own at the moment, with the crappiest camera at the moment. I figure the two cancel each other out, right?

Just came in from eBay this afternoon, and it’s glittery! In the middle is a pretty tear-shaped moonstone. The serrated tiers give it a bit of a steampunk look, don’t they?

I think I’ll wear this rusty gear lily pad on my cloche.

The FUTURE WAR review will take just a bit longer, but expect the hat show to be up tonight.

Luckily I’m not eating noodles at work today, lest I have another infinite-vomit-bile-attack. The doctors say it’s a virus that’s going around, but my BLEHHHHH *cough cough* UUUGHHHHHH SQUIIIICK BLEHHHHH attacks seem to be triggered by:

1. Spreadsheets
2. Ramen noodles
3. 1:00 PM, when “The Story With Dick Gordon” is on our local public radio station.

And I feel the wrath of all three of those monsters when I’m at work.

But anyways, I went to the library today to scan some pictures for the resource section. And there I found the most marvelous book in existence. You can’t flip through it and not smile. I scanned a few images, but here’s one of my favorites:

That’s right, ladies and gents,  I FOUND A VINTAGE HAT BOOK! It’s full of hats (not literally) from the late 1800′s all the way up to contemporary styles. I laughed, I cried, I screamed in terror. This is the vintage hat book of the century.

Pretty flowers!

And in the vase are a couple of floating lemons; the card attached reads, “When life gives you lemons, make lemon cupcakes!” Cute, no?

Well, there’s a story behind this bouquet, of course. I won this contest called, “The Worst Ex-Perience,” conducted by the ladies at Pink Kisses. So, simply put, I had the worst breakup experience of the bunch! Go me!

It’s funny how a bunch of flowers can lighten a day and two years of sadness, even if it’s temporary. Maybe I’ll dry a few of the flowers, laminate them, and make a bookmark.

And I’ll have to find something AWESOME to do with the floating lemons.

I bought these mamas (grandmamas?) off eBay not too long ago. The thing that struck me about them: they looked sort of like angel wings. HUGE angel wings.

Ridiculous modeling in 3…2…1…go!

My plan is to wear them to a coffee date. With maybe a boa or tons of faux fur. In fact, I plan to look like a screen siren when I meet my hypothetical date at Starbucks, for one reason and one reason only.
